“On International Women’s Day, in line with our ambition to bring the best women’s writing and female storytellers to ever-wider audiences, we are delighted to announce the twenty fantastic books which make up the 2016 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction longlist.”
The Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction, one of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes dedicated exclusively to highlighting the works of women authors, has announced its longlist for the 2016 prize. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all 20 of the prize’s winners and have found the prize a great way to be introduced to new talent. This year, I’m going deeper and I am sooooo excited! In keeping with my Year of Reading Women and my hopes to elevate women’s writing in my repertoire and in the minds of those around me, I will be reading and reviewing all 20 of this year’s nominees. The list will be reduced to a shortlist of about 6 on April 11th, and the winner will be announced on June 8th. I am psyched to get started and hope you will follow along with me on this new leg of my adventure.
I didn’t even know this award existed. Thanks for posting!!

I’m really excited to read a bunch of books on this list. But honestly, I haven’t heard a single person say they enjoyed Ruby. =\
